This A3 mixed media painting on canvas-covered board was created from small moments of real life that quietly became important to me. The shells visible underwater in the foreground are based on shells my son collects for me. At home, they sit in little pottery bowls my mum made by hand years ago.
Sometimes it is these ordinary corners of life that hold the most meaning — bowls of shells, sea-worn treasures, family hands passing creativity and care between generations. Painting them felt like holding onto gratitude itself.
The soft blue tones, layered textures and gold-coloured edge are all about light emerging through movement and memory. A reminder that even in difficult times, the world still has a bright face worth noticing.
