“Tide Is Out 1” captures the quiet, open expanse revealed when the sea retreats. Warm ochre sands stretch across the surface, layered with soft, earthy tones that echo sunlit beaches and long afternoons by the shore. Subtle suggestions of rocks and seaweed emerge through textured mixed media marks, grounding the composition in the natural details left behind by the tide.
 
The palette shifts from the cool blues of open water to nostalgic, sandcastle-building warmth — that familiar feeling of damp sand between fingers and the wide horizon beyond. Oil pastel lines add definition and energy, while loose brushwork keeps the scene alive and atmospheric.
