“Tide Is Out 3” explores the shoreline at its most open and exposed, when the sea has fully withdrawn and the land quietly expands into view. Broad sweeps of warm ochre and sandy beige dominate the surface, layered with textured marks that suggest rippled wet sand, scattered rocks, and traces of seaweed left behind.
In this version, the composition feels more grounded and elemental. The sand carries greater weight and depth, with oil pastel lines adding energetic definition and subtle structure across the beach. Hints of cooler blue linger at the distant edge, reminding us that the tide will return.
 
The mood is reflective and nostalgic — evoking childhood afternoons spent building sandcastles, long walks across wide beaches, and the simple freedom of open coastal space.
